At Fictionwise
Jun. 17th, 2008 05:26 pmWhen they first got Closing Arguments up for sale, you could only find it by searching by publisher--title and author searches were to no avail. But at last the biggest purveyor of e-books has everything set up properly. I feel so legitimate! Now we're just waiting for Amazon.

Date: 2008-06-20 09:40 pm (UTC)(This is a happy accident for me, because now I don't have to spend an hour finding a way around the protections in order to print a copy so I can spare myself the eyestrain of reading on-screen. But as it probably involves some legal issues, I thought you might want or need to tell them about it.)
Also, I rated yours GREAT before I even opened the first page. Is that cheating? >:-) (In fairness, I've read a snippet before, and I did love that.)
ETA: Also? Yours looks WAY better than the Lackey file, which looks like shit. (I'm AMAZED they would release something with Misty's name on it that looked that bad, frankly.) The formatting is much better, and prettier, and easier on the eyes. Congrats to whomever did it. (My only complaint? They seem not to have gotten the memo that two spaces after a period isn't necessary any more. Like, it's been verboten in professional publishing for DECADES. Other than that, it looks fantastic -- and that's a small, picky detail complaint from a professional designer, so ingest with suitable amounts of sodium chloride. I *love* the little post-it separators! And the cover art is gorgeous -- I'm crossing my fingers that someday I'll see it printed properly. :-)
And since, due to the aforementioned happy accident, I can make a printout? I'm going to make a nice one, with a color cover, and then I'm going to make you sign it. Then someday when you're rich and famous, I'll sell it as a signed first edition at a con or something. ;-)
