Crossed Wires

dr_pretentiousI tried to call home on my cell phone and got someone else. At first I thought it was a wrong number, but my landline was out, I wasn't dialing wrong, and the poor woman on the other end of the call wanted to know why she was getting so many calls for some guy named Dan.
Dan discovered today that his uncle had been trying to reach him for two weeks. We had no idea, because the problem was intermittent. It doesn't seem to be intermittent anymore. If you've been trying to call us at home and missing us, we're not blowing you off.
Verizon says the soonest we can expect a repair is the 5th.
So here I am at Starbucks, trying to put out the fires in my email inbox.
Anyone who needs to reach me before the 5th should probably stick to the cell phone.
