Canadian In A Recent Incarnation
Oct. 28th, 2010 11:09 pmIt's not just the song about Old MacDonald and his farm--young children really are obsessed with which animals make which sounds, and they can get some odd ideas about it. Gareth will insist that cats do not purr (because they meow), and horses do not nicker (because they neigh).
So it should not have surprised me when Gareth categorized his baby brother as a single-utterance creature whose designated sound is "Eh." That is what Conrad says most often, but he's getting more versatile surprisingly fast. Gareth sometimes watches Conrad sleeping and says, "I want to wake up baby brother. I want him to say 'Eh!'"
