Yes, this is a good addition. It did feel impossible, at the end of the diss, to believe I'd still have a self left when the ordeal was over, let alone that that self would be free. I'm happy to report that this mental state wasn't a part of my experience with getting the novel ms shipped out, though. Thank goodness! I don't know how I would have endured it twice.
