Calling All Astrologers

I sort of understand horological astrology (the kind that Nancy Reagan's astrologer used to do, picking out the right day and hour for different activities), but I don't quite grok birth charts. I'm not aiming to become a good astrologer, or even a passable astrologer, but I want my protagonist to say the right sorts of things about her own chart.

Ria's a Virgo, born in Neptune, New Jersey sometime in the 1960s. I don't especially care what day or year, but she must be a Virgo, and she must be from the town of Neptune. Any advice, O astrologically inclined readers?

I use the free chart generator at www.alabe.com for simple chart generation, and at www.astro.com for more indepth stuff. They both offer brief breakdowns of all the elements in a chart. I'll usually generate a bunch of semi-random ones and find one that suits the general personality I'm going for.
