dr_pretentiousDan did all the physical heavy lifting for our hurricane preparations and post-storm clean-up. Naturally, the remedy and reward for such exertions is to read more chapters of George R. R. Martin's latest installment of A Song of Ice and Fire.
One night, when Dan was stumbling tired from hauling lawn furniture and helping neighbors, the novel kept him up until he was actually slurring his words. Including the author's name.
"Wait a minute," I said. "You just called him Jar Jar Martin."
"I didn't."
"You totally did. Meesa fight for Winterfell!"
The clash of images made us reel for a moment. And then we started with various catchphrases from Westeros rendered in Jar Jar's awful pidgin.
I will spare you the Oath of the Night's Watch in Gungan.
