Who All's Going to Philcon?
Nov. 17th, 2011 11:54 pmThis'll be a weird one, logistically. I'm day-tripping to Philcon with my infant and my coeditor, leaving my spouse and firstborn at home. Dan assures me that his staying home with only one kid underfoot means the porch will be finished, but for the painting, by Monday. I like the word "done," even when we come up with convoluted definitions for it, so I'll be trying to manifest my Vortex of Schmooze superpowers while baby-wrangling. I think I can, I think I can.
So aside from the folks I already have plans to meet up with there, who's going?

Date: 2011-11-18 04:05 pm (UTC)During my childhood years in Japan, my dad took up marathoning for a while. The Japanese marathon fans and supporters would gather by the side of the course and yell, "Ganbatte kudasai!" to all the runners, which roughly translates to, "Persevere, please!" So, ganbatte kudasai to you.

Date: 2011-11-18 05:37 pm (UTC)About 20 years ago, I did a 4 mile run in Newark. The official results postcard I received said that for my age/gender group, I came in 17th out of 16 [sic]. I expect to have a similar performance this time around.
