And it's going to be really interesting, finding 5,000 words to cut elsewhere in the story to make room for the important stuff his scenes do.

Ah, well. I was worried that the overall pace was too draggy. There's at least that much fat to cut.

The story seems to be getting better. I wish I could feel that meant it was closer to done.
