The second episode of my long-ago classrooom teaching adventure is up at the Black Gate Blog.

I did miss a week--after 89 years of adventure, music, and matriarchal duty, my grandmother left the world. She showed us how to do it well, as she did with many things. I'll write be able to write about her soon. Soon.

Wow, i would love to see the syllabus for this class.

I took intro to myth when I was at rutgers, but i don't know which department it was with. We read very basic stuff (gilgamesh, ramayana) watched the matrix - for a religion major it was very relaxing - but no milton or gaiman or tolkien. I wrote a final paper on The Kindly Ones, but i don't think the lecturer had ever read it before.

Your class sounds like awesome hard work.
