Tying On The Cleats

Yesterday, I finally figured out what the new Rugosa story is actually about. And I've only been poking at it for, what, three or four weeks? It'll be interesting to see if I have a draft I can bear to send off in time for the Sunday deadline that got me started on this piece.

Lots of people write a short story a week. I could write a short story that fast, but I don't know if I could write a good short story that fast. I've tried enough sprinting to know I'm better in the marathon.
