The Kind of Thing I Lose Sleep Over

Last night I glanced at my one foray into lj memedom and noticed the infinitive named among the verb moods. How did it get there? Apparently, my fingers were doing the thinking, because I know better. Who but me would lose sleep over a thing like that, imagining the kind people on my friends list would think less of me for the lapse?

Memo to myself: Get over the perfectionism.

he he he...
oh the joys of anal-retentive pefectionism!
I didn't notice it - and I promise not to go look for it now that you've mentioned its there.

hugs!!!

I stripped it out. The sight of it was making me twitch. It's the same twitch my mother gets when she hears a split infinitive. One of the wicked pleasures of watching classic Star Trek with my father was watching my mother's twitch at "to boldly go."

Here you have it, the long-term fallout from my having been raised by a professional grammar geek.

"to go boldly where no man has gone before"... ?

wow - and I thought I had a thing for grammar & typos
glad I'm not alone ;-)
