I know I've been saying this every day for the past three weeks, but dammit, today is the day I finish that novella. I have too much work to do on the requested mss (the first 100 pages of the big book to an agent ASAP, so the whole big book had better be ready to send if she asks for the full, and the first three chapters of the prequel to an editor in September, so the whole Stisele project had better be finished and polished before Mabon) for me to keep spinning my wheels, making the current piece better but no closer to done.

Spouse is well, recovering from his half-rained-out 150 mile bike thing before he drives home.

How's T doing? Any luck with the job hunt?

Sounds like you have a softer mattress to fall down on.

It's always good to see you, and it was good to meet your fellow.

Welcome home!

Can I bother you for directions to your house and some cat-sitting notes?

It was great to meet you in Bellevue. Sunday Litha was great. Amazing how people loosen up when you build a bonfire in the middle of the sanctuary and have the chairs in a circle around it! Wish I could have attended the conference, but will try to do it at Rutgers next year. (You escaped from here just before the temperatures hit the 90s and stayed!)

The response to this year's event was enthusiastic enough, the March conference is looking like a pretty solid plan. Not quite book-your-tickets solid yet, but save-the-date solid. I'm so glad you're thinking of coming. Sorry I was so low-energy when we finally did meet. This year the jet-lag really got to me. I'm usually much more zippy in my own time zone.

I have vague notions about hosting an open Ostara ritual--something for the Pagans who are giving up their Equinox observances for the conference. I think there were at least half a dozen of us there last week, some of them missing out on Solstice celebrations. One of these years, Writer's Weekend will be scheduled on a weekend that doesn't knock out one of my major holy days.

I bet our humidity can beat up your humidity. The minute I stepped out of the airport, it was as if I'd stepped into a sauna, and that was at 1:00 am.

What is the Bob project? You've got me laughing my ass off because around here bob is short for battery operated boyfriend.

Oh, my. That's a really memorable acronym. Nope, no relation. Did I send you a copy of "Atlantis Cranks Need Not Apply"? This is another novella with the same characters, only this time Bob Baines is the protagonist. Poor Bob. Being a protagonist is hard work, even if you only have to keep it up for 30,000 words.

Thank you again for opening your home to me. I had a wonderful time with you and [livejournal.com profile] dthon. This visit was too short, but we can hope that life is long.

Aha! I thought you might be you. Well, you just keep on writing sentences that kick ass, and I can keep on pointing out that they do. Mina's such a fun character. Don't you dare give up on her.
