Broke the 10K Barrier!

Had a lovely write-in with newroticgirl,citabria, drewness, and Saint Archer. Dan came along for solidarity and did a bunch of gaming prep. I'm still behind, but I'm not going to think about how far behind right now. I beat the daily quota and hit the milestone I was aiming for.

And the folks coming to rescue Stisele from her precarious perch turned out not to be the people I was expecting at all. Out of the frying pan, etc.

Isn't it always true about the frying pan. I sent Dag on the spur of the moment from Seattle to Chicago on a red-eye flight and now he's stuck in a waiting lounge in Houston, still trying to figure out how he got there!

Stisele was expecting that her rescuers would be fellow members of her company of light dragoons. Instead, the guys who show up are there to rescue the guy she took prisoner, and they haven't made up their minds yet what to do with her.

Until about 2am, I was expecting the dragoons, too.

And yes, I now understand just barely enough about cavalry to know the difference between dragoons, hussars, and uhlans. It feels kind off weird to be carrying stuff like that around in my head.
