I just caught up with the 1667 words a day grind at 4:23AM. I'm at 21,774, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm writing sentences and words or a novel. I have to wonder if I'm consciously padding things, adding unnecessary descriptions and so on. I hope not, but the last chapter was tedious, and I found myself checking counts every few lines. The real problem is probably trying to write a novel without any plan whatsoever. Once again the characters have taken over, the saving grace, I suppose.
