Distracted By Sciatica

Thank you to everyone who recommended chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage, etc. I ended up finding a good guy who's actually in network with my health insurance--an unexpected bonus. My doctor is confident that we can get the sciatica to clear up in a matter of weeks, but meanwhile, I have stretching exercises to do, and appointments to keep, and various little comfort measures to use. Sleeping is hard work, and getting through the day requires a simplified definition of what counts as getting through.

The most annoying thing is that I won't be going to the George's Friends retreat down at Ramblewood this weekend. (In memory of a friend who organized big festivals, we thought we'd have a little festival at a place he loved.) I really wanted to go, since I couldn't make it to the memorial service at FSG, and I was looking forward to hanging out in the woods with various people who'll be there. I had particular plans to catch up with jasminewind and shades_of_nyx--ladies, I'll call you to figure out other plans. I've got the sciatica regimen well enough in hand that I've urged Dan to go to Ramblewood without me, but I'm not up to three days in a rustic setting right now.

Sorry the sciatica is causing problems! I'm glad you are on your way to getting your hands around it. We'll be thinking of you! You and I can talk sometime soon, I can probably make a trip up to NJ in September as a wonderful excuse to bring you the many things in my attic reserved for you and nubbin.

Actually, if you're not already packed up and on your way, would it be possible for you to bring the attic stuff this weekend and hand it off to Dan? It would be great to be able to check that off our to-do list.

I will call you tomorrow and see if we can rummage a big items list of what we can give Dan this weekend. We are going to come in the Subaru, but we are bringing someone from the Braided Flame grove who doesn't have a car so I don't know how much room we'll have. We were going to come up in 2 cars b/c I thought T would have to work later but he's taking a short day tomorrow, the waiting for Portland has really worn him down and this is the first day he's able to take as a mental health day.

I won't be making Geo's Friends either (problem with an email reply about cost)
and I didn't make it to the memorial either (my ride bailed out on me at the last second, so there was no time to make any other arrangements)

Here's hoping we get to hook up sooner or later... but the way it's looking it'll probably be after the birth before that'll be happening...

I'm stuck at home too (for me, quite literally), so if you're up to driving and would like to get together, just give me a call! I'm not able to drive yet, so my providing transport is sadly out.

Sorry for not returning your call -- you called while I was in the hospital, and I didn't get your message until sometime last week. Perhaps, even if we don't get together, we could chat on the phone sometime this weekend!
