The Pagan review site Facing North just posted a rave review of Closing Arguments. Jeremy Bredeson's only complaint was that he wanted it to be twice as long. I hope he can settle for a long series of connected novellas.

The bit that makes me happiest is:
The interplay between the very Wiccan protagonist and his very Christian wife was beautifully done. The interweaving storylines between him and each member of his coven and their relationships with one another left me begging for more. I’m honestly anxiously waiting to see what Ms. Avery has in store for the characters in her world.

That sounds blurbworthy to me.

Hmmm... I think the whole thing will actually work BETTER as a series of connected novellas. The reviewer wished for a longer novel, that started many years earlier; I don't think that would have been nearly as effective from a narrative point of view.

I do, however, dream of someday seeing them all published as a single collection under one cover... but still as a series of collected novellas, the way the Callahan books are nothing but collections of short stories in vaguely chronological order. :-)
